    About the Placement Cell
Greetings from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal.

NDRI has been the main source of trained manpower for India’s expanding dairy industry. Over the decades, NDRI alumni have contributed immensely to the dairy development in the country, right from production through processing to marketing. The Industry has been offering jobs with diverse profiles to students of NDRI, Karnal. We have reason to believe that our students, by their intensive and all-inclusive training and flexible, adaptable and innovative personality have been well accepted in the job profiles that were placed before them.

Our major recruiters in 2016-17 were Ananda Dairies, GCMMF, Indian Dairy Machinery Company, Kwality Ice Creams (Sharjah), Mother Dairy (Delhi), Nestle India, Perfetti Van Melle India, Punjab Milk Federation, SPX Technologies, Tetra Pak India etc. The maximum and average salaries given to our undergraduate students in the last year were ~ INR 6.4 lakhs and 4.9 lakhs, respectively. The corresponding figures for the post graduate students were ~ INR 10 lakhs and 6.9 lakhs. We take this opportunity to thank all our recruiters and hope that this association between them and NDRI will continue in the future.

The B.Tech (Dairy Technology) students undergo an intensive 4-year curriculum comprising of 3 years of course work – both theory and practical – and one full year of in-plant training. They are also encouraged to get hands-on experience in the dairy and food industry through Summer Projects taken up with reputed organizations. The current (2018) batch of 24 students are doing their internships at various dairy plants/ firms across the country since January 1, 2018. Some of these firms are Ananda Foods, DuPont India, Givaudan India, Glaxo SmithKline, Kraft Heinz India, Nestle India, Tetra Pak India etc. The average stipend that the students are being paid during in plant training is ~ Rs. 12,000/- per month. This website will furnish information about the 2019 batch of B.Tech. students in August-September 2018.

We also have a group of post graduate students pursuing M.Tech/M.Sc/M.V.Sc and Ph.D. degrees in sixteen different disciplines. The post-graduate training of the Institute has proved extremely beneficial for the R&D, quality assurance and management programmes of the dairy, food and feed industry as well as in other institutions such as banks and non-governmental organizations. Several Agricultural and Dairy Universities in the country also recruit our post graduate students as their teaching and research staff.

We would consider it a privilege to invite your esteemed organization to visit our campus for the final placement of our students. Please feel free to contact us for any additional information that you may require. We look forward to your feedback in terms of your specific requirements and also the time frame so that we can facilitate the recruitment process well in time each year.
