    Education

    The academic year of the NDRI Deemed University is organized in terms of two semesters in a year. Each semester shall be of 18 to 19 weeks duration.

    The exact dates of each semester in a particular academic year shall be decided by the Academic Council from time to time. The broad time schedule for the start of two semesters is given below:

    I          Semester :  August
    II         Semester :  January

    There is a provision for summer vacation of approximately six to seven weeks duration during June to July, or on dates to be specified by the Academic Council. In addition to summer vacation, there is provision for inter-semester break of about 2 weeks between first and second semester on dates to be specified by the Academic Council

    The University Office shall announce Academic calendar for every academic year specifying exact dates for various activities enlisted below:

     

    Postgraduate and Undergraduate Programmes
    Second Semester (January-July, 2018)
    On-line submission of synopsis by Ph.D. scholars after divisional seminar Upto 10th January, 2019
    On-line registration and payment of fee & dues with half yearly progress report: Dip. in DT&  AH&D, Master’s and Ph.D. students undergoing dissertation/thesis work i)10th  and 11th January, 2019   Thursday  & Friday
    ii) 14-16 January, 2019 with late fee of Rs.250/-
    iii) 17-31st January, 2019 with late fee of Rs.500/- per day
    On-line registration and payment of fee & dues with half yearly progress report: B.Tech.(DT), Master’s and Ph.D. students undergoing course work i) 18-19 Feb, 2019
    ii) 20-22 Feb., 2019 with late fee of Rs.250/-
    iii) 23-28 Feb., 2019 with late fee of Rs.500/- per day
    Commencement of classes for 2nd semester 20th Feb, 2019
    On-line approval of courses/research work of students by course In-charge, Guide and finally by Head of Division 20th Feb, 2019
    On-line registration and payment of  fees & dues  with late fee of Rs. 250/-(3 working days) 20-22 Feb., 2019
    Supplementary Examination Last week of Feb., 2019
    Last date for on-line semester registration with late fee of Rs.500/-per day 23-28 Feb., 2019
    16th  Convocation & Academic Week 1st week of March
    Inter-Class games & Sports, Reverie/Youth Festival/Basant Utsav 2nd-3rd week of March, 2019 (Tentative)
    Date of Mid Term examination 2nd week of April, 2019
     ‘Make- up’ of  Mid Term Examination within 7 working days of completion of mid-term examination with genuine reasons
    World Milk Day 1st June, 2019 Saturday
    Last day  of instructions for 2nd Semester 15th  June, 2019
    Semester End Examinations begin (Tentative) 20th June, 2019

    Last date for on-line submission of marks Within 7 days from the date of semester end examination
    Last date for declaration of result for 2nd semester-end examinations by the Controller of examinations 10th July, 2019
    On-line submission of synopsis by M.Sc. students 31st August, 2019
    IMPORTANT NOTES
      1. All students shall be present in person for registration.  No registration in absentia will be   allowed without prior permission of competent authority.
      2. After the last date of 2nd semester University Examination during a semester break, there will be an In-plant Training (DP-400)/In-farm Training (LP-400) for all M.Sc. and Ph.D. 1st year students who have passed the UG examination i.e. B.Sc. with basic sciences or B.Sc.(Ag.) without animal sciences as electives, for a period of 5(4) weeks.
      3. The date for submission of Master’s Thesis shall be 7-12th June, 2019 without late and 13th -30th June, 2019 with late fee. The student shall also be permitted to submit dissertation after 30th June with a late fee of Rs.500/- only. In case the dissertation is submitted after 30th June, the Viva Voce examination would be conducted only after commencement of next semester. In case the dissertation is submitted after commencement of the next semester, the candidate will register himself/herself for that semester and pay fees except the dissertation full fee.
        The Scholarship in all such cases will be paid upto the date of submission of thesis   or 30th  June, 2019, whichever is earlier
    • In-plant training of B. Tech.(DT) students & Viva Voce
      B. Tech.(DT) First Semester duration of training: 15th June  to 14th December

      B. Tech.(DT) Second Semester duration of training: 15th Dec. to 14th June

    • All India Educational Tour
      For B. Tech.(DT) students10 days tour during semester break after 2nd year
      For Diploma students 10 days study tour during semester break after 1st Year
    • If date(s) indicated above is a holiday, next working day is applicable.
