• NDRI Bags Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award – 2014

National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) was conferred Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award-2014 The award was presented to Dr A. K. Srivastava, Director NDRI by theHon’blePrime Minister of India Sh. NarenderModi at the 86th Foundation Day and ICAR Award ceremony held on 29th July, 2014.The award was given to Dr A. K. Srivastava in theaugust presence of Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture; Dr.Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries; Secretary DARE and Director General ICAR Dr S. Ayyappan;ShArvindR. Kaushal, Additional Secretary, DARE and Secretary ICAR and many distinguished luminaries and vice-chancellors from National Agricultural Research System.

NDRI Bags Agriculture Leadership Award – 2013

National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) was conferred Agriculture Leadership Award-2013 recently in a glittering function at Taj Palace New Delhi. The award was presented to Dr. A. K. Srivastava, Director jointly by H.E. Hon‟ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Sh. B.L. Joshi and Sh. Tariq Anwar, Minister of State for Agriculture & Food Processing Industries in the presence of the Chief Minister, Punjab and Architect of Green Revolution in India – Prof. M.S. Swaminathan.

NDRI Bags Education Leadership Award

• NDRI was conferred Education Leadership Award at 21st Dewang Mehta Business School Award Ceremony on 23rd October, 2013 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The award was bestowed upon NDRI recognizing talent and leadership amongst Educational Institutes across India.

• A project entitled “Characterization and Differentiation of Embryonic and Spermatogonial Stem Cells in Cattle and Buffaloes” was awarded, under National Agricultural Innovation Project, in Component-4, in July 2009. Under this project „GARIMA-II‟, a cloned buffalo calf, produced through the new and advanced „Hand-guided Cloning Technique‟ was born at National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on 22nd August, 2010. This cloned buffalo calf was unique in the sense that the donor cell used for producing this calf was from embryonic stem cell. On this achievement, National Agricultural Innovation Project, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR), New Delhi awarded certificate of appreciation on 14th December, 2012 to the Project at NDRI, for outstanding contribution in model translational research in buffalo to establish developmental competence of embryonic stem cells, having produced GARIMA-II.

• NAIP project entitled “A value chain on composite dairy foods with enhanced health attributes” under component-2 was awarded with “Certificate of Appreciation” by the National Agricultural Innovation Project for outstanding contribution in development of technological packages for milk and pearl millet based innovative composite dairy foods. The NAIP also complemented the activities related to popularization and commercialization of developed technologies among the stakeholders and consumers. Secretary DARE and Director General (ICAR) presented the certificate on December 14, 2012 during the Inauguration Ceremony of Regional Committee Meeting of ICAR.

• National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Consortium Leader (Dr. A. K. Srivastava), Chairman, Consortium Advisory Committee (Dr. C. P. Puri) and Consortium Research Team (Dr. M. S. Chauhan, Dr. P. Palta, Dr. R. S. Manik, Dr. S. K. Singla, Dr. Dheer Singh, Dr. Manoj Kumar and Dr. S. L. Goswami) were felicitated by Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR and awarded certificate of recognition for model translational research carried out under NAIP project on stem cell entitled “Characterization and Differentiation of Embryonic and Spermatogonial Stem Cells in Cattle and Buffaloes” that has produced GARIMA-II.

• NDRI got “Second Rajshree Tandon Award-2011” for its outstanding work done in Official Language Hindi. The award was presented to NDRI at Director‟s Conference held on 19th March, 2013.

Awards to Faculty International

• Dr. Dheer Singh, Senior Scientist, Animal Biochemistry Division was awarded 9th AAAP/CAPI “Outstanding Research Award” by the Asian-Australian Association of Animal Production Society at the annual meeting of Society held at Hanoi, Vietnam during 22nd – 26th September, 2008. The Award includes 1,000 US$ and a Plaque.

• Dr. P. Heartwin Amalad SRS, Bangalore received “Bill A. and Rita L. Stout Outstanding International Graduate Student Award” 2008, from Department of Biological Systems Engineering, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA.

• Dr. B. S. Chandel was awarded Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship 2009 to work on “Development of Multi-Market Models for Policy Analysis of Dairy Sector” at University of Reading (UK) till March 2010.

• Dr. B. C. Ghosh was awarded “Australian Endeavour Executive Award” by Australian Government for four months to carry out research work at Victoria University in Melbourne.

• Mr. A. Kumaresan was awarded “Better Opportunities for Young Scientists in Chosen Areas of Science and Technology (BOYSCAST) Fellowship” by Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India to carry out advanced research and training in upstream areas of Reproduction Technology at Division of Reproduction, Swedish Agricultural University, Uppsala, Sweden for a period of one year from April 1st 2010 to March 31st 2011.

• Dr. A. Kumaresan availed the prestigious Biocon Post Doctoral Fellowship of Govt. of Sweden.

• Dr. J. K. Kaushik, Senior Scientist, Animal Biotechnology Centre, was awarded “Erasmus Mundus Scholar Grant, 2012”.

• Dr. Dheer Singh, Principal Scientist received “11th AJAS/CAPI Outstanding Research Award” (C/o Korean Society of Animal Science & Technology). The award includes 1,000 US$ (donated by CAPI in Korea) and a Plaque.

• Dr. Rajan Sharma, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Chemistry Division was awarded Indo US Norman E Boriaug International Agricultural Science & Technology Fellowship to undergo training at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA from 13th March to 28th April, 2008

• Dr. Gautam Kaul, Sr. Scientist, Animal Biochemistry Division was awarded Biotechnology Overseas Associateship 2006-2007 (Short-term) by DBT, Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology to work at Department of Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry, School of Medicine, University of Pittaburgh PA 15261, USA for a period of six months w.e.f. 25th Oct., 2007 to 24th April, 2008.

• Dr. Dhruba Malakar, Sr. Scientist, Animal Biotechnology Centre was awarded Biotechnology Overseas Associateship 2006-2007 (Short-term) by DBT, Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology to work at University of Pittaburgh PA 15213, USA for a period of six months w.e.f. 16th Nov., 2007 to 15th May, 2008.

• Dr. Sachinandan De., Sr. Scientist, Animal Biotechnology Centre was awarded Biotechnology Overseas Associateship 2006-2007 (Short-term) by DBT, Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology to work at Uppsala University, Sweeden for a period of six months w.e.f. 1st Jan., 2008 to 31st July, 2008.

• Dr. P. Palta, Principal Scientist, Animal Biotechnology Centre was awarded Biotechnology Overseas Associateship 2006-2007 (Short-term) by DBT, Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology to work at Mariensee, Germany for a period of three months w.e.f. 24th Feb., 2008 to 23rd May, 2008.

• Dr. B. S. Prakash, Head, Dairy Cattle Physiology Division was awarded DAAD Fellowship under DAAD Re-invitation programme from 1st August to 25th October, 2008 at Germany.
• Sh. Gian Mutreja, GM, Model Dairy Plant was awarded “COCHRAN FELLOWSHIP-2007” under USDA, for training in “Dairy Technology” at South Dakota State University, Brookings U.S.A. from 11th – 27th Sept., 2008.
• Dr. Sumit Arora, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Chemistry Division was awarded Erasmus Mundus Grant as Visiting Professor for Teaching and Research Guidance to the International Students of Food Science and Nutrition at Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland and other consortium Institutes viz. Portugal and Belgium under European Union’s programme from 9th Feb. to 9th April, 2009.

• Dr. A. K. Tyagi was awarded grant under European Union Funded Programme as a visiting Professor to teach at Supagra Institute, Montpellier, France; Catania University, Italy; Wageningen University, Netherlands from Jan.7-April 7, 2009.

• Dr. T. K. Datta, Sr. Scientist, Animal Biotechnology Centre was awarded DBT Overseas Associateship (short term) 2007-08 at Michigan State University for 6 months from 12th March, 2009 to 14th September, 2009.

• Dr. S. K. Das, Senior Scientist, Dairy Biotechnology Section, Eastern Regional Station, NDRI, Kalyani was awarded Biotechnology Overseas Associateship, 2007-2008 (short term) awarded by DBT, Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi at Stem Cell Lab, UNSW, Sydney, Australia for a period six months from January to June, 2009.

• Dr. B. S. Chandel, Principal Scientist, Dairy Economics Statistics & Management – was awarded Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship – 2009 for carrying out research work on “Development of Multi-Market for Policy Analysis of Dairy Sector” in U.K. for 6 months from 7th October, 2009 to 1st April, 2010.

• Dr. A. K. Singh, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Technology Division was awarded Eramus Mundus Scholarship on the subject “Food Science, Technology and Nutrition” at Belgium, Ireland & Germany from 14th Feb. to 14th May, 2010.

• Dr. B. C. Ghosh, Principal Scientist, SRS, Bangalore availed Australian Endeavour Executive Award at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia.

• Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Chemistry Division visited Dublin Institute of technology, Ireland as Visiting Professor under Erasmus Mundus programme for teaching and research guidance to the International students of European Masters Degree in Food Science and Nutrition from 14th Feb. to 25th March, 2011.

• Dr. R. K. Malik, Principal Scientist, Dairy Microbiology Division was awarded fellowship under German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Re-invitation programme to carry out research at Federal Research Centre for Nutrition and Food Science, Kalsruhe, Germany for 45 days (1st July to 14th Aug., 2010).

• Dr. A. K. Mohanty, Sr. Scientist Animal Biotechnology Centre was awarded DST/DAAD fellowship from 21st April to 14th May, 2010.

• Dr. Sudhir Kumar Tomar, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Microbiology Division was awarded Erasmus Mundus Scholarship as a visiting scholar for teaching and research at Germany/Ireland/Belgium for 6 weeks from 7th March to 15th April, 2011.

• Dr. B. S. Prakash, Head, Dairy Cattle Physiology Division was awarded the DST DAAD fellowship from 22nd – 31st March, 2011 at Germany.

• Dr. (Mrs.) Bimlesh Mann, Principal Scientist and Dr. Rajan Sharma, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Chemistry Division were awarded Erasmus Mundus fellowship at Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland from 17th February to 18th March, 2012.

• Dr. Gautam Kaul, Sr. Scientist, Animal Biochemistry Division availed 2012 Endeavour Research Award sponsored by Department of Education, Employees and Workplace Relation (DEEWR), Govt. of Australia for a period of six months from 2nd March, 2012.

• Dr. A. K. Tyagi, Principal Scientist was awarded Erasmus Mundus fellowship and visited KaHo Sint-Lieven Gent Belgium under from 28th October to 18th November 2012.

• Dr. Vivek Sharma, availed Erasmus Mundus Fellowship of European Union for the year 2011- 12. to take part in the European M.Sc. Degree in Food Science, Technology and Nutrition as a scholar (Visiting Professor) from 30th April to 26th May, 2012 at Katholieke Hogeschool, Gent Belgium and Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland.

National

• Dr. A. K. Srivastava, Director, NDRI received “Chellapa Memorial Oration Award” of Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology for the year 2011.

• Dr. V. Unnikrishnan, Principal Scientist and Dr. S. Kulkarni, Head, SRS, Bangalore received the “ICAR Award for Outstanding Interdisciplinary Team Research in Agriculture and Allied Sciences for the Biennium 2005-2006”. The award was presented by the Hon‟ble Union Minister of Agriculture Sh. Sharad Pawar Ji and the Hon‟ble. Minister of State for Agriculture Sh. Kanti Lal Bhuria Ji in the ICAR award ceremony on 16th July, 2008.

• Dr. S. Kulkarni, Head, SRS, Bangalore was conferred with “Bharat Ratna Dr. C. Subramanyam Outstanding Teacher’s Award” for the biennium (2006-2007) for the specialization of Engineering and Food Technology by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The award was conferred on 16th July 2008 by Union Agriculture Minister Shri. Sharad Pawar in the presence of Minister of State for Agriculture Shri. Kantilal Bhuria.
• Dr. A. K. Singh, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Technology Division was awarded “Dr. P. G. Nair Award” (2005-09) by Alumni Association, NDRI, Karnal on the occasion of 9th Convocation of NDRI Karnal on 19th February, 2011.

• Dr. K. K. Datta, Head, Dairy Economics Statistics & Management Division alongwith other team members was awarded “The ICAR Outstanding Interdisciplinary Team Research Award in Agriculture and Allied Sciences for Biennium 2007-2008” for their outstanding research contribution in Social Sciences on 16th July, 2010 at NASC, New Delhi on the occasion of ICAR Foundation Day.

• Dr. S. S. Thakur, Principal Scientist, Dairy Cattle Breeding Division was conferred the “Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India Felicitation Award 2010” at the CLFMA National Symposium  held at Chandigarh on 30th August, 2010.

• Dr. P. Narender Raju, Scientist, Dairy Technology Division, NDRI, Karnal receiving “Young Researcher Award” at the “International Conference on Functional Dairy Foods-2011” organized by Dairy Technology Society of India and NDRI, Karnal during 16th – 19th November, 2011 at NDRI, Karnal.

• Dr. Dheer Singh, Animal Biochemistry Division was awarded “SAB Eminent Biotechnologist Award 2011” by Society for Applied Biotechnology at the 2nd National Conference on Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Bioengineering, held at Kohlapur, Maharashtra on 24th- 25th Feb., 2012.

• Dr. (Mrs.) Jancy Gupta got “Agricultural Leadership Award – 2012” by Agriculture Today– the National Agriculture Magazine.

• Dr. R. K. Malik, Principal Scientist & Head Dairy Microbiology Division, NDRI, Karnal and Editor of Indian Journal of Dairy Science was honoured and awarded a certificate of commendation for his outstanding contribution to the journal as Editor during 41st Dairy Industry Conference 2013 from 14th-16th March, 2013 at Mumbai (Maharashtra).

• Dr. A. Kumaresan, Senior Scientist, Livestock Production Management was awarded with “Eight Sisters NE Best LPM Research Award” by ISAPM during its XX Annual Convention and National Seminar on “New paradigms in livestock production: From traditional to commercial farming and beyond” held at NDRI from 28th – 30th January, 2013.

• Dr. A. K. Singh, Senior Scientist, Dairy Technology Division got “NDRI Best Teacher Award” for undergraduate teaching (2012) during 11th convocation of the NDRI deemed university held on 16th February, 2013.

• Dr. Bimlesh Mann, Principal Scientist, Dairy Chemistry Division got “NDRI Best Teacher Award” for postgraduate teaching (2012) during 11th convocation of the NDRI deemed university held on 16th February, 2013.

• Dr. A. • Dr Dheer Singh, Principal Scientist, Animal Biochemistry Division was bestowed with the prestigious Labhsetwar Award-2013 of the Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility (ISSRF) on 7th-9th February, 2013 at Thiruvananthapuram.

• Dr. Sanchita Garai, Scientist (Extension) participated in ICAR Award Ceremony‟ 2012 on 16th July, 2013 and received “Jawaharlal Nehru Award” for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Research in Social Science. She worked on “Information Communication Behaviour and Group Dynamics of Self Help Group Members of New Alluvial Zones of West Bengal”.

Best Paper Awards

• Dr. S. S. Thakur, Principal Scientist and Dr. S. K. Tomer, Sr. Scientist, Dairy Cattle Nutrition Division were awarded “Best Paper Award” for their research paper entitled “On Farm Evaluation of a Nutritionally Balanced Total Mixed Ration on the Lactation Performance of Buffaloes” published in Indian J. Dairy Sci. during the year 2007.

• Dr. Bikash C. Ghosh, Dr. K. Jayaraj Rao, Dr. K. Balasubramanyam, Dr. B.V. Balasubramanyam and Dr. Satish Kulkarni SRS, Bangalore were awarded “Best Paper Award” for their research paper entitled “Process Standardization and Shelf Life Evaluation of Chhana Podo” published in the “Dairy Processing Area”  in the  Indian Journal of Dairy Science for the calendar year 2007. The Award was presented at XXXVII Dairy Industry Conference held at Goa from 7 – 9th Feb., 2009.

• Dr. F. Magdaline Eljeeva Emerald, Dr. Ravindra Menon Rekha, Dr. C. Karunanithy, Dr. S. A. D. Prasad and Dr. P. Heartwin Amaladhas, SRS, Bangalore were awarded “Best Paper Award” for their paper entitled “Characterization of Waste Water from Select Dairy Processing Operations: A Management Perspective” published in Journal of Dairy and Biosciences. 15 (1&2): 42 – 46.

• Dr. Manvi Sharma and Dr. R. K. Malik, Principal Scientist, Dairy Microbiology Division were awarded “Best Paper Award” for their research paper entitled “Incidence of Antibacterial Resistance among Mastitis Pathogens” presented at the “National Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance: from Emerging Threat to Reality” held at Allahabad Agriculture Institute (Deemed University), Allahabad, from 23rd -25th March, 2009.

• Dr. Avtar Singh, Dr. P. S. Oberoi and Dr. B.  K.  Joshi  received  “Best  Paper  Award”  for  the  paper  entitled “New Computer Simulated Excel based Software for Analysis of Techno-economic Feasibility of Dairy Farming” published in Indian Dairyman for the year 2008 in the “Commercial Aspects Area” on 19th February, 2010 from Dr. N. R. Bhasin, President, IDA, New Delhi at NIMHANS, Bangaluru.

• Dr. S. K. Tomer, and Dr. J. P. Sehgal, received “Best Paper Award” for their research paper entitled “Nutrients Requirements for Pregnant Buffaloes” during the International Buffalo Conference on “Optimizing Buffalo Productivity through Conventional and Novel Technologies” organized by Indian Society for Buffalo Development held at NASC Complex, New Delhi on 1st April, 2010.

• Dr. V. Sharma, Dr. Tushar Makwana, Dr. S. Arora, Dr. Amit Kumar, Dr. D. Lal, Dr. R. Seth, Dr. (Mrs.) B. K. Wadhwa, and Dr. G. S. Sharma were awarded “Best Paper Award” for the paper entitled “A Rapid Method of Cholesterol Estimation in Ghee using Non-enzymatic Diagnostic Kit” published in Indian J. Dairy Sci. 61 (5): 353- 359 during XXXVII Dairy Industry Conference from 17th – 19th Feb., 2010 at NIMHANS, Bangalore organised by IDA (SZ).

• Prof. I. K. Sawhney was awarded “Best Paper Award” for his research paper entitled “Laghu Satar Ke Dugadh Prasanskaran Upkaran” presented during 11th Rashtriya Vigyan Sangoshti at IARI, New Delhi.

• Dr. B. C. Ghosh, Principal Scientist, SRS, Bangalore got the “Best Paper Award” for the paper entitled “Preparation and properties of chhana sweets” published in the “Commercial Aspects Area” in the Indian Dairyman for  the calendar year 2009. The award was presented at 39th Dairy Industry Conference from 4th -6th Feb., 2011 Kolkata.

• Dr. Vivek Sharma, Mr. Makwana Tushar, Dr. Sumit Arora, Dr. Amit Kumar, Dr. Darshan Lal, Dr. Raman Seth, Dr. B. K Wadhwa and Dr. G. S Sharma were awarded “Best Paper Award” for their paper entitled “A rapid method of cholesterol estimation in ghee using non – enzymatic diagnostic kit” published in Ind. Journal Dairy Sci, 61 (5): 353- 359 during 38th Dairy Industry Conference from 17th – 19th Feb, 2010 at NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bengaluru, organised by IDA (SZ).

• Mr. S. Arora, Mr. V. P. Singh, Mr. V. Sharma, Dr. B. K. Wadhwa, Mr. V. George, Dr. A. K Singh. and Dr. G. S. Sharma got “JFST Best Paper Award” for their paper entitled “Analysis of sucralose and its storage stability in burfi” for the year 2009, published in J. Food Sci. & Technol. 2009, 46(2): 114–117. Presented in the Annual Award Ceremony held on 25th January, 2011 at CFTRI, Mysore.
• Dr. S. K Sood and Dr. P. R. Sinha, Animal Biochemistry Division received “Best Paper Award” for their paper entitled “Acidocin S2 containing powder obtained upon freeze-drying of fermented paneer whey reduces toal viable count during storage of processed cheese” published in Indian Journal of Dairy Science, 62 (6) : 486 – 490 : 2009.

• Dr. V. K. Batish, Dr. Sunita Grover and Dr. Raj Kumar Duary received “Best Paper Award” for their paper entitled “Probiotic – A Magic Bullet” published in the “Technical Aspects Area” in Indian Dairyman for 2008.

• Dr. S. K. Sirohi, Dr. S. S. Kundu, Dr. Sohan Vir Singh, Dr. Praveen Kumar and Ms. Poonam Pandey received “First Prize” for book “Dairy Pashu Poshan Avum Prabandhan (Hindi)” during Hindi Divas on 14th Sept., 2010

• Dr. Raka Saxena, Dr. Smita Sirohi and Ms. Massoumeh N. Zadeh were awarded the “Best Paper Award” by IDA for the paper entitled “Aftermath of global economic crisis: impact on Indian dairy sector” published in Indian Journal of Dairy Science for the year 2010.

• Dr. P. K. Roy, Dr. R. B. Singh, Dr. A. Chatterjee and Dr. R. C. Saha were awarded the “Best Paper Award” by IDA for their paper entitled “Micro climatic variables under different dairy cattle shelter systems of rural West Bengal and its impact on milk production published in Indian Journal of Dairy Science for the year 2010.

• Dr. Archana Verma, Mr. Bharat Kumar, Mr. Indrasen Chauhan, Dr. I. D. Gupta and Dr. R.S. Gandhi received “Best Paper Award” for Research paper on “Molecular characterization of fore-brain embryonic zinc finger like gene in Murrah buffalo” presented during National Conference on Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Bioengineering at  Kolhapur from 24th -25th February, 2012.

• Mr. Nitin Tyagi, Dr. S. S. Thakur and Mr. Sachin Shelke were awarded “Outstanding Paper Award” for the period (2009-2011) by Animal Nutrition Society of India for their research paper “Effect of feeding bypass fat supplement on milk yield, composition and nutrient utilization in cross bred cows”, published in the Indian Journal of Animal Nutrition Vol.26: 1-8.

• Mr. G. Thakur, Mr. N. Kumar, Mr. H. V. Raghu and Mr. M. Balhara were awarded “First Prize” for the development of a novel micro technique and media for selective enumeration and detection of Enterococci in milk (FQ- 05) at the XXI ICFOST on innovations in food science and technology to fuel the growth of the Indian food industry organized during 20th – 21st January, 2012 at Pune, India.

• Dr. I. K. Sawhney and Dr. P. S. Minz received “Best Paper Award” for “Khoa ko satat roop se thanda karne kye liye yantrikrit pranali ka vikas” organized by Rastrabhasha unit on 14th September, 2011.

• Dr. R. K. Malik, Principal Scientist Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, Mr. Tejinder Pal Singh and Mr. Santosh Mishra got “Best Paper Award” for the paper entitled “Health-enhancing Functional Dairy Foods Bioactive Peptides” published in Indian Dairyman during 41st Dairy Industry Conference organised by IDA during 14th – 16th March, 2013 at Mumbai.

• Mr. K. N. Papinwar, Dr. B. Surendra Nath, Principal Scientist and Mr. D. H. Patel got “Best Paper Award” for the paper entitled “Antimicrobial Packaging for Food Preservation” published in Indian Journal of Dairy & Biosciences Vol. 20 in the category of Dairy Processing for the years 2009 & 2010.

• Dr. Vikram Singh and Dr. Jancy Gupta, Principal Scientist (2012) “Best Paper Award” for Clean Milk Production: The Path for Milk quality Improvement. 6th National Seminar on Emerging Challenges and Paradigm for Sustainable Agriculture Rural Development at YSPUHF, Solan 18th – 20th December, 2012.

• Mr. Nirish Chandra Sahu, Dr. Jancy Gupta, Principal Scientist and Dr. Om Vir Singh, Principal Scientist got “Best Paper Award” for Status of commercial dairy farming in Haryana: An exploratory study at 41st Dairy Industry Conference-2013 organised in Mumbai from 14th – 16th March, 2013.

• Mr. Mukesh P. Singh, Dr. S. K. Kanawjia, Principal Scientist, Ms. Apurba Giri and Dr. Y. Khetra, Scientist bagged “Best Research Paper Award” entitled “Moisture Sorption Isotherms and Thermodynamic Properties of Mozzarella Cheese Added with Microcrystalline Cellulose” during the International Conference on “Food Technology for Health Promotion” organized by International Institute of Food and Nutritional Sciences (IIFANS), from 27th-28th December, 2012 at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

• Ms. Apurba Giri, Dr. S. K. Kanawjia, Principal Scientist, Mr. Mukesh P. Singh and Dr. Y. Khetra, Scientist bagged “Best Research Paper Award” entitled “Effect of Phytosterol on the Quality of Processed Cheese Spread and its Hypocholesterolemic Study” during the International Conference on “Food Technology for Health Promotion” organized by International Institute of Food and Nutritional Sciences (IIFANS), from 27th-28th December, 2012 at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

• Dr. S. K. Sirohi, Senior Scientist, Dr. S. S. Kundu, Principal Scientist, Dairy Cattle Nutrition Division and Dr. Sohan Vir Singh, Senior Scientist, Dairy Cattle Physiology Division were awarded “First Prize” for the Book entitled “Go- Pashu Poshan and Parbandh” for the year 2006-07 during Rajbhasha Samaroh at NDRI, Karnal.

Best Oral Presentation Awards

• Dr. B. S. Prakash presented the prestigious Dr. C. R. Sane Oration Lecture in the 25th Annual Convention of Indian Society for Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR) and International Symposium on Expanding the Horizons of Reproductive Technologies in Global Scenario for Augmenting Fertility in Farm and Pet Animals, held at Veterinary College and Research Institute Namakkal, Tamilnadu from 10th – 12th Dec., 2009.

• Mr. A. Kumaresan was awarded “Best Research Presentation Award 2009” during 25th Annual Convention of the Indian Society for the Study of Animal Reproduction and International Symposium on “Expanding Horizons of Reproductive Technologies for Augmenting Fertility in Farm and Pet Animals in the Global Scenario” held at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu from 10th – 12th December 2009.

• Mr. M. Manoj, Dr. R. S. Gandhi, Mr. T. V. Raja, Dr. Avtar Singh and Dr. G. K. Sachdeva were awarded “Best Oral Presentation Award” for the paper entitled “Genetic Parameters of various First Lactation Traits in Sahiwal Cattle” by Bioved Research and Communication Centre, Allahabad (UP) on the occasion of 12th Indian Agricultural Scientists and Farmer‟s Congress held at Allahabad  University, Allahabad from 20th  – 21st February, 2010.

• Ms. Madhumita Majumdar, and Dr. B. Surendra Nath were awarded “1st Prize for Oral Presentation” on “Optimization of conditions for Seliwanaff’s method for estimation of sucrose content in gulabjamun” at National Conference on “19th West Bengal State Science & Technology Conference” held at Kolkatta from 1st – 2nd March, 2012.

• Dr. S. Jeyakumar was awarded “Best Oral Paper Presentation” on the paper entitled “Sustainable dairy production through reproductive and management technological interventions to boost milk production in Andaman Islands” by the Indian Society of Animal Production and Management during XX Annual Convention and National Seminar on “New Paradigms in Livestock Production: From Traditional to Commercial Farming and Beyond” 28th – 30th January, 2013 at NDRI Karnal.

• Dr. Archana Verma, Principal Scientist got “Best Oral Paper Award” entitled “Effect of surplus colostrum feeding on growth and immunity status of crossbred calves” during the National Seminar of ISAPM from 28th- 30th January, 2013 at NDRI, Karnal.

• Dr. S. S. Lathwal, Senior Scientist, Livestock Production Management was awarded with “Smt. Kadambini Devi Award for Best Oral Presentation on Domestic Animal Behavioural Science” by ISAPM during its XX annual convention and National Seminar on “New paradigms in livestock production: From traditional to commercial farming and beyond” held at NDRI from 28th – 30th January, 2013.

• Dr. Archana Verma, Principal Scientist got “Certificate of Felicitation for Oral Presentation” entitled “Molecular analysis of candidate genes for mastitis in Murrah buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis)” during the World Congress on Biotechnology from 13th -15th September, 2012 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad.
