In pursuance of the procedure/instructions contained in Council’s letter Nos. 5-2/87/Per.IV dated 10.2.1989, 10 (14)/95-Per.IV dated 11th Sept. 1995 and 10(4)/Per.IV dated 20th May 1996 for constitution of the Grievance Committee to look into the Grievances of the officers/officials at ICAR Institutes, the Director , NDRI has been pleased to re-constitute the NDRI Grievance Committee comprising of the following members for a period of two years from the date of issue of this office order to attend the complaints of an individual employee in respect of his/her salary, overtime leave, transfer, seniority, training, opportunities, research facilities, completion of probationary period/confirmation, promotions/recruitments etc. The scheme is to cover both gazetted and non-gazetted categories of officers and provides single machinery for redressal of their grievances.

As per the ICAR guidelines for Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer/Commercialization operative with effect from October 2, 2006, ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute Karnal has constituted Institute Technology Management Committee (ITMC) in December 2006 (revised time to time) for screening/testing of technologies for patenting or commercialization for the research subgroups on Production, Processing and Management.

The composition of ITMC is as follows:

Functions of Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee:

1. To deliberate on PME Cell reports and decide on Institute Research Priorities (Scientists would be required to take up projects from the list of priority research problems).
2. To Constitute a Committee of 2 experts (one internal and one external) constituted by Director to evaluate the progress of research projects and submit a report on the prescribed format. This exercise needs to be done every year.
3. To constitute a Committee of 2 experts (one internal and one external) constituted by Director to submit a report on the prescribed Performa for technology validation of complete projects.
4. Prepare annual plan and identify scientist for capacity building in PME activities.
5. To approve updating Institute database on half yearly basis.

The Institute Research Committee under the Chairmanship of Director, NDRI, coordinates the entire research agenda of the institute.

Besides the Director, the Committee consists of Joint Director (Academics), all Heads of Divisions, and Head of Regional Stations with Joint Director (Research) as its Member-Secretary.

The key functions of the Institute Research Committee (IRC) are to critically review the ongoing and completed research projects, to consider the new research proposals, and to advise on fostering of linkages between the groups/divisions of the institute in respect of multidisciplinary/multi-locational projects.

The mid-term review of IRC projects of NDRI was taken up from 16th to 19th August 2010 at Karnal and on 7th September 2010 at SRS, Bangalore, and 8th October 2010 at ERS, Kalyani. Based on the critical reviews at the Divisional level and subsequently, at the Institute IRC meetings, certain clear–cut recommendations emerged on each research project, which was documented in the proceedings of the IRC Meeting.

The vigilance-related matters at National Dairy Research Institute Karnal and its regional stations situated at Bangaluru and Kalyani are being looked after by the Disciplinary/Vigilance Cell set up at NDRI Karnal (Hqr.). Dr. Smita Sirohi, Principal Scientist is looking after the activities of this Cell as Vigilance Officer designated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.
